Successful entry clearance application

A client of ours wanted to invite his fiancée to join him in the UK. He was a British citizen, and his partner was from the USA.

Successful entry clearance application

What was the case?

This client attended an initial consultation with us, giving us all the background information we needed to begin the case.

Once we understood the context of their relationship, we advised that the best way for his partner to apply for entry clearance would be for them to get married.

Following our advice the pair wed in the US, then he returned to the UK and instructed us to submit a spouse entry clearance application on his partner’s behalf.

Our immigration solicitors provided the client a list of documents which we required from them, which they in turn provided.

We then completed their online application and sent a copy to the client to confirm that everything was correct.

Once this was confirmed we submitted the application using the priority service, paying for the immigration health service as well as the application itself.

We also secured an appointment with the application centre in Sheffield, giving us two weeks to send supporting documents onto them.

Following us sending these documents as well as a cover letter explaining the applicant’s background details, we received an acknowledgement of the entry clearance application from the Home Office that everything had been received and was under consideration.

Our immigration specialists went back and forth with the Home Office in order to get the documents returned to the applicant in the USA.

After four weeks, the applicant received confirmation that her visa application was successful and she had been granted entry clearance.

This was a great success for the couple, who are now able to enjoy their life together in the UK.
