Points Based Visas

The UK uses a points-based five tier system to allow entry to people from outside the EEA for a longer period of time to study, work or invest.

We hold a 100 percent success rate for points-based visa applications due to the exceptional service and support provided by our solicitors.

Open for Application

Tier 1, 2, 4 and 5 are currently open for applications.

The government never allocated any visas in the third tier after it was designed for low skilled workers filling temporary shortages in labour requirements.

The Point Based System

To be granted a visa in each of these tiers the applicant must first pass a point-based assessment which includes an English language test.

Additionally, with some visas the applicant must also be able to pass the ‘life in the UK’ test prior to applying.

How Points are Awarded

Points are generally awarded based on the applicants ability, experience, level of education and age.

Your immigration solicitor will be able to assist you in selecting the point based visa that is right for you and help you with the application process.

If you are unsure if you will be eligible for a point based visa you can contact our immigration solicitors today on 0844 414 0667, or request a call back for a time that suits you best.

Tier 1, 2, 4 and 5 Visas

Each visa will have different eligibility requirements, so you must apply for the right visa if you wish to be granted permission to enter and live in the UK.

If you apply for a visa that you are not eligible for your visa application will be rejected and you may need to apply for a new visa or appeal the Home Office’s decision.

As appeals can take between six to 12 months it is highly recommended to ensure you are eligible for the visa you are applying for.
